Scouts NSW - North West Region Scout Fellowship

The role of the North West Region Scout Fellowship is to enable members to engage in and support Scouting in North West Region in whatever way they can given their time available as volunteers. It operates:

• As a vehicle for continued Scouting service;

• As a source of volunteers to assist with Scouting activities; and

• As an avenue for social activities that are fun and appealing.

Members of the Fellowship shall be at least 18 years of age. Fellowship members are full members of Fellowship who are registered on ScoutHub and pay state membership fees and an annual subscription ($20.00)  to their Fellowship. Both Leaders and Supporters can be Fellowship members. Prospective Fellowship members apply to join byb contacting the secretary of their chosen Fellowship and registering on ScoutHub. Re-registration is required every year..

Full Fellowship members are covered by Scout accident and public liability insurance and are entitled to wear official Scout uniform. Those who do not hold a Certificate of Proficiency are required to be accompanied by someone who does while in the presence of youth members.

Fellowship associate members / Adult Supporters are supporters of Scouting who are keen to maintain an association with the movement but do not necessarily wish to pay state membership fees. 

Associate members / Adult Supporters pay their Fellowship’s annual subscription and fulfil all other membership requirements, including a Working with Children Check, a National Police Check and completion of essential e-learning modules. Registration is achieved on ScoutHub, supplied by State HQ. Associate members accrue service and are covered by Scout accident and public liability insurance, but are not permitted to wear official Scout uniform or be unaccompanied in the presence of youth members unless someone holding a Certificate of Proficiency is also present.

Any person of good standing in the community may join the Fellowship subject to their meeting the necessary standards and approvals required by Scouts NSW. Applications for membership shall be submitted on the prescribed form lodged via ScoutHub. New members must be approved by the Fellowship. New members shall be invested into the Fellowship by the chair who will present them with a Fellowship scarf, badges and nametape. The scarf is turquoise and may carry a North West Region Scout Fellowship badge at the apex.

Members may resign in writing to the secretary at any time but shall forfeit any subscriptions paid in advance. Persons in good standing who resign shall be readmitted as members after submitting the prescribed application form and being approved by the Fellowship.

Members of the Fellowship must practise the ideals of Scouting as embodied in the Scout Promise and Law, the aims and principles of the movement and the Codes of Ethics and Conduct.
